Share folder between Windows and Virtual Machine

Connect VM via SSH :
Step 1. Install samba

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install samba

Step 2. Set a password for your user in Samba

sudo smbpasswd -a root

and set passwd 123123

Step 3. Edit the file “/etc/samba/smb.conf”

sudo nano /etc/samba/smb.conf

smb.conf” has loaded, add this to the very end of the file:

path = /root
available = yes
valid users = root
read only = no
browseable = yes
public = yes
writable = yes

Tip: There Should be in the spaces between the lines, and note que also there should be a single space both before and after each of the equal signs.

Step 4. Restart the samba:

sudo restart smbd

Step 5. Once Samba has restarted, use this command to check your smb.conf for any syntax errors


Step 6. Connect share folder in VM via network location of Windows ( shortcut : windows + E )

1. Open your computer
2. Right-click and choose “Add a network location”
3. Next -> choose a custom network location
4. In “Internet or Network address”, fill out : \\\server ( this is VM’s IP and the shared folder )
5. Next
6. Change the name that you want.
7. Next -> Finish
8. The result !

Install nodemon : nodemon is used for automatic build after your source code changing

Sudo apt-get install nodejs npm
Sudo npm install –g nodemon

Fix problem authentication fail

apt-get install –reinstall libsmbclient libsmbclient-dev libtevent0 libtalloc2

There was a miss match of shared libraries with either tevent or talloc.
